We at Sold Out Ministries have a deep burning burden for the Christians of America. We are burdened because of the lukewarm lives and attitudes that characterize today’s American church. This burden is not some personal agenda or ideology, but a God given burden. This intense burden is not merely that God’s people in this country are not living by the life set forth by Christ, but it is that God has called us for so much more. SOM’s broken heart is that God’s people; His Church, His bride has compromised, lowered the standard, and are missing the abundant life promised to them. They are falling short of showing the world God’s greatness and they are falling short of enjoying it. Our hearts are broken because of this, and we’re convinced that much of the reason why God’s people are missing out is that they have been deceived. They are not seeing the truth of God’s greatness. In Second Kings Chapter six Elisha’s servant walks out to see his master’s and his tent surrounding by an invading army. The servant became so focused on that circumstance that he was blinded to the reality which he had known about at one time. Elisha saw the truth and prayed that the servant’s eyes be opened, and they were. Once the servant could see clearly and the deception of the moment was gone he recognized God’s greatness. Just like that servant we are deceived by the momentary life – we miss the reality of the truth of God and our place with Him. In Matthew chapter thirteen the reader finds Jesus telling two parables concerning the greatness of God and our relationship with Him. He tells in the first one that a man finds a treasure in a field; this treasure is worth more than anything. The man immediately sees the greatness of that treasure and goes out to sell everything that he has to buy the field that the treasure is in. He knew the treasure was so great that it was worth him giving everything for. The American church like that man, pass a treasure very often that treasure is God. The church is deceived into thinking that it is fine just to observe the treasure from a distance or once a week. They are deceived of the treasure’s real greatness. Is it not sad that the people of God today are missing enjoying the greatest treasure imaginable? That is why SOM exists. We are unveiling the truth of the greatness of God and life with Him so His people will live Sold Out lives experiencing the abundant life God has promised. This is done through the revival preaching of Jake McCandless, and his written and recorded resources. Also by the comedy and speaking of Bob Griffin. It is also done through the cutting edge praise and worship music of At His Feet and their resources. The three work together to create quality spirit led events that unveil God’s greatness challenging people to rise up. |
